Each of our four hosted chalets can be at the heart of unique and special walking holidays in Italy’s most wonderful peaks. Effectively, they are a relaxing home from home, in which you can enjoy the self‐indulgent feeling of being comfortable and well looked after. If you choose not to go out during the day, you are welcome to stay in the chalet. Help yourself to tea and coffee as and when you wish ‐ or something stronger from the bar. The chalets are in delightful locations within the village and they enjoy amazing views.
Our hosts are welcoming and friendly. They are painstakingly recruited by us. Their hospitality is unassuming and ever‐present. They care enormously about the success of your holiday and, whilst careful not to interfere, they are always at hand to help you plan your days. They are an efficient source of local information and, as most of them have a passion for the outdoors, you can rely on them for excellent advice on walks, Via Ferrata and other days out. In addition to their advice, dotted around the living areas are maps, books and copies of our Ideas & Information Files.
Our hosts are excellent cooks and accomplished housekeepers. Every other day, they will enter your bedroom to give it a light clean. At breakfast, they prepare an appetising, semi‐continental buffet breakfast, keeping the tea and coffee on the go. If requested by you, they will make you a good packed lunch that is ready for you however early your start. Dinner in the chalet is a focal and immensely enjoyable point in the day. Six evenings a week (not Wednesday, our day off) we serve a delicious three course dinner. The emphasis is on excellent homecooked food with a sense of indulgence that makes it special and simultaneously acknowledges that most people around the table have had an energetic day out in the mountains. Wine is included with dinner and our hosts are quick to refill empty glasses.
The atmosphere around the table is informal and it is easy to unwind: people with largely common interests (and inspired by a beautiful day in the mountains) talk and laugh over good food and drink until well after coffee has been served. Over the years we have regularly been overwhelmed by the heartwarming and friendly atmosphere that prevails in our chalets. Frankly, it is a delight to witness the friendships that are built on these chalet holidays. Goodbyes amongst guests and hosts are often quite emotional!
All our catered chalets are spacious enough for you to retreat from the convivial atmosphere, if you wish to spend a peaceful moment reading a book or writing a postcard.
You can stay in a hosted chalet on a full board halfboard or B&B basis. B&B guests are welcome to join us for dinner and can pay locally when doing so. Full board is also available and includes a Collett’s packed lunch. Our chalets either have a traditional bar or a casual honesty bar. Also, there is wifi and ample parking. Towels and bed linen are provided by us.
