Jaimie and Ian

August 21, 2013

From the moment we arrived in Italy the Colletts team made us feel at home. The staff at Verena were amazing and food was excellent (I probably would have licked the plate clean if we weren't in polite company). Corvara was perfect, excellent location for a variety of activities and great transport links to other areas of Alta Badia. We loved the communal dining set up, anyone who is worried about having to make polite conversation at dinner, don't worry! We chatted to a variety of different people of ages and backgrounds, but everyone shared a common love of the outdoors and walking. It was great planning the next days activities during office hour and hearing about everyone's adventures over dinner. And boy are there a lot of activities on offer; walking, Via Ferata, Mountain Biking, historical walks, not to mention relaxing in the many rifugios. Despite reading that Italy is busy in August we found most of the many well marked trails almost empty (unless you're near a refugio when it gets a bit more lively). The Colletts Ideas and Information files gave us a great idea of different walks in the area and gave us the confidence to head out on our own. We are totally in love with Corvara and the Dolomites and would love to go back with Colletts again.
