Self guided walking in Italy’s majestic Dolomites with Collett’s
Choose day to day whether to walk independently or join an organised walk
numerous walking and Via Ferrata proposals in our Ideas & Information files
the unrivalled local knowledge and ever-present help and advice of our own outdoor team
On a Collett’s Mountain Holiday you are welcome to do your own thing, either every day of your stay or just on the odd day as and when it suits you. Either way, you should find our local knowledge invaluable. Dotted around our chalets, you will find ‘Ideas & Information’ files, documenting over 35 magnificent high, medium and low level walks and 25 Via Ferrata. We detail duration, degree of difficulty and we include the relevant section of a 1:25,000 map. The files also propose scenic drives, bike rides and other days out.
Furthermore, all of the information provided in our ‘Ideas & Information’ files is available for you to borrow in the form of easy to carry ‘Route Laminates’. Whilst these should not be treated as definitive guides, they can prove invaluable when used in conjunction with the local walking map, one of which we will send you shortly before you depart for the Dolomites.
Also, you can drop into Office Hour, which is held every early evening somewhere close to where you will be staying, except on Wednesdays, our day off. Here the local knowledge of our own walkers and Via Ferrata organisers is available to you over a sociable pre-dinner drink. We are certain that, with their ideas and suggestions, you will create a succession of memorable self guided days out.
At your own risk
You join our organised itineraries and make use of our ideas & information at your own risk. It is important that you understand that whilst our own walkers have substantial local knowledge and are familiar with the routes which our organised walks follow, they are not qualified mountain guides.
