No previous experience is needed for this snowshoeing holiday. We have a range of routes to suit all abilities, with 4 optional guided snowshoeing excursions included in the holiday. A reasonable level of fitness and a love of the outdoors are more important than technical skills, making snowshoeing a great alternative to skiing.
Snowshoeing is similar to hill walking, but can feel more demanding due to snow conditions and winter clothing. Our snowshoeing holiday is designed for regular walkers who are comfortable walking for 3-5 hours a day at a steady pace. In the Val Aurina, routes often follow gentle valley paths and forest trails, with options for higher-level walks for those seeking more of a challenge.
The Val Aurina is ideal for snowshoeing thanks to its quiet valleys, high snow reliability and unspoilt alpine scenery. Located in the South Tyrol near the Austrian border, it offers a peaceful winter environment with well-marked trails, traditional villages and dramatic mountain views, away from the crowds of larger ski resorts.
