Douro Valley & Vineyards: If sumptuous accommodation, celebrated vineyards, and exquisite views over lush-green landscapes entice you, this holiday is hard to beat. The Douro Valley & Vineyards route takes you through UNESCO-listed vineyard terraces, historic quintas, tranquil villages and scenic overlooks. Walk moderate-grade trails between hilltop villages, then relax with excellent local food and wine in charming rural hotels. This is ideal for walkers who want scenery, serenity and cultural richness: expect verdant valleys, gentle slopes, olive groves and the vineyard-lined banks of the River Douro.
