| There
is some delightful cross-country skiing in the Val Badia,
taking you through a wonderful variety of magnificent scenery
and terrain. We generally use the cross-country centre at
nearby Armentarola, where a series of well-marked woodland
tracks provide circular routes (skating and classic) of
varying difficulty and length. It is a spectacular location
dominated by the walls of the Conturines Massif. Skis and
shoes can be hired and lessons are available too. The centre
also has a typically alpine bar and restaurant with an attractive
sun terrace, where you can 'recharge your batteries' between
the various route itineraries. |
| Other
options include a 6km skating track along the river from
Pedraces up to Corvara (and back) and at Corvara itself,
there is a stunning 5km woodland route under the walls of
the Sella. Further afield, there is Cortina, Val Gardena,
Pustertal and Dobbiaco, all offering similarly beautiful
itineraries. |
| For
cross country skiing, we use a centre at Armentarola near
San Cassiano, where a series of well-marked woodland tracks
provide circular routes (skating and classic) of varying
difficulty and length. These trails meander through the
trees and meadows in a magnificent and tranquil setting
dominated by the canyon walls of the Conturines massif.
Skis and shoes can be hired and instruction is available
too. There is a typically alpine bar and restaurant with
an attractive sun terrace, where you can 'recharge your
batteries' between various route itineraries. Further afield,
there is Cortina, Val Gardena, Pustertal and Dobbiaco, all
offering similarly beautiful itineraries. The advanced cross
country skier may feel limited by the options in the Val
Badia but it is ideal for people who might want a few days
on cross country skis, or for anyone just wanting to try
it out. |

In
Pedraces, we include cross country skiing as one of our
organised itineraries along with walking, snowshoeing and
downhill skiing. In Arabba, we only offer it a couple of
times a week. Some activities are subject to the availability
of transport. When supplementary transport is used, the
cost is shared across the party. |
