Travelling to the Dolomites

Getting to us can be quick, easy and inexpensive. You make your own plans but we are happy to advise. Many guests fly to Venice or Treviso and either hire a car or join our daily airport transfer. But there are other viable fly-drive options. The map to the right shows useful flight routes at the time of printing. The map below shows airports which serve the Dolomites and driving times. For an overview of fares, routes and timetables, try www.skyscanner.net

Your travel options are as follows:

Flights to the Italian Dolomites

Our closest airports are Venice Marco Polo and Venice Treviso and it is to and from these airports that we offer airport transfers for £72 return. Obviously if you are happy to fly-drive, you can consider other airports such as Verona, Milan, Innsbruck and Munich. Nowadays it is probably best for you to book the flights online directly with the airline as early as possible. Prices in 2009 with internet-based airlines often cost below £80 and were rarely more than £140. For an overview of low-fare airline prices, routes, destinations and timetables, try www.skyscanner.net This saves time, as you don’t have to scan numerous low fare sites. On the map to the right you can select your nearest airport and it will display destination airports in green if there is a direct flight to that location. You can search directly for flights using the Skyscanner toolbar below.

making your travel arrangements

Ultimately, you travel to the Dolomites exactly as you please. Please give us a call if you would like any further help or advice with your travel arrangements. Please contact us to check availability before you book your flights. We are happy to 'hold' accommodation if you need time to make travel arrangements or finalise plans with friends and family. On confirming, we will send you a booking form whilst holding the accommodation in your name. We will also send other documentation allowing you to pre-book skipasses etc. On return of the form with the relevant £75 per person deposit (payable by cheque or credit card), we will immediately reconfirm your booking. The final balance is due eight weeks prior to your departure.

holiday insurance

We strongly recommend you buy a comprehensive insurance package at the time of booking (or certainly prior to purchasing flights or booking ferries etc.), so that everything is covered in the unlikely event of you having to cancel for an 'insurable reason'.
Global Travel Insurance provide Collett’s with a tailor made policy, which includes cover for Via Ferrata, Mountain Rescue and our Guided Glacier Treks, as well as the usual things you expect from your holiday insurance.
Also, there is no increase in premium for people over 65. We will be happy to send or email you full details of the policy and we
automatically send full details to anyone who books a holiday with us. *Our insurance will also cover any holiday prior to (or after) your time with Collett’s, which is part of the same period away from your home, unless dangerous sports are involved.
