Chalet Bracun is our wonderful new chalet in Corvara. It sits in a prime location about 500m from the village centre and is dramatically towered over by Sassongher (2665m). From its sun terraces and many balconies, you are absorbed by spectacular views of Sassongher in one direction and over the village and meadows to the colossal north-eastern flanks of the Sella in the other. As a springboard it is outstanding. You can embark on walks of all levels from its doorstep, whilst being close to this well served, vibrant and picturesque village.
You can embark on walks of all levels from its doorstep, either meandering into the idyllic flower pastures that surround the village or venturing up into rockier terrain on one of many paths that leave Corvara for the celebrated massifs that watch over it. The Piz Boe and Col Alt telecabines are within easy walking distance too, the former whisking you up to the dramatic eastern flanks of the Sella, the latter to the undulating flower-strewn upland pastures of the Pralongia plateau. Or you can simply wander to the nearby village centre and enjoy this well served, vibrant and picturesque village.
Part of the chalet is occupied by a charming Tyrolean café, pasticceria and bar, which is run by our friends, Urban and Maria (whose daughter, Miriam, manages Café Peter in Arabba). This large and attractive room with its various sitting areas is ideal for a post-walk or pre-dinner drink and doubles up as the living area. It is also where we hold Office Hour. And just outside is an extensive sun terrace.
Downstairs you have the use of a sauna, Turkish bath and tepidarium. Upstairs, the bedrooms are delightful and from their balconies you will be absorbed by the idyllic surroundings. Chalet Bracun also has three 'superior' self catering apartments, - see Superior Self Catering. And just outside is an extensive sun terrace from which you can enjoy exquisite views in the afternoon and evening sun.
