Location & Views – Towered over by Corvara’s iconic peak, Sassongher, La Tambra enjoys a highly attractive location just 5 – 10 minutes walk from the village centre, pistes and skilifts, although you can hop on the skibus shuttle very nearby. At the end of the day, you can get quite close to the hotel on your skis if snow conditions are normal. The views here are a delight: Sassongher and the monumental Sella massif will captivate you throughout your stay. This is a highly recommended and delightful spot for a week’s skiing.

The Hotel – Not too big, not too small, La Tambra is a characterful and welcoming hotel with an unassuming calmness and panoramic views from its attractive en suite bedrooms. From the minute you arrive, it’s obviously family-run and friendly, without compromising on professionalism and expectation. Everyone is courteous and simultaneously easy-going. No wonder people come back time and time again. It’s now 15 years since its charming renovation. A century ago it was an alpine barn, housing livestock in winter. Its traditional origins are cleverly retained amidst its character and modern comforts. Spa options include various saunas, whirlpool, Kneipp, massages and yoga.

Buon Appetito! Italy’s global reputation for outstanding food is in safe hands at La Tambra. Fresh and organic produce are sourced locally to produce authentic Ladin recipes alongside regional and Mediterranean cuisine. As is normal in Corvara’s hotels, a delicious 4 course dinner includes a generous ‘antipasto’ buffet.

The Team – As with all of our hotels, La Tambra is superbly run by a wonderfully friendly and efficient team, who have worked at the hotel for many years. In addition, members of the Collett’s Team will drop in to say ‘hello’ and check that all is ok – an opportunity for you to tap them up for any ideas or information concerning your time on the slopes.
