Hike from village to village amidst the breathtaking alpine treasures of Switzerland's Engadin valley
The River Inn, fed by the waters of more than 800 glaciers, starts at the Maloja Pass and fills many a glistening alpine lake along its path. The river flows through multiple alpine treasures, including Grevasalvas village, where scenes from Heidi were filmed in the 1970s, adding a nostalgic touch to your adventure.
Marvel at the brilliant-white glaciers of the Bernina range as you pass Silvaplana and St. Moritz. Leave the tourist centres behind and walk through dreamy mountain villages into the pristine Swiss National Park. For over 100 years, nature has flourished undisturbed in this south-eastern corner of Switzerland, making the Via Engiadina trek an unparalleled journey through an unspoilt mountainous landscape.
Our comprehensive maps and notes ensure easy self-navigation, with your baggage transported daily to each carefully selected overnight stop. You choose the dates; we ensure everything is organised to perfection.

With our itinerary, the Via Engiadina takes 6 days, walking between 4 and 7 hours each day. This is classed as one of our moderate walking holidays in terms of difficulty, but you need to be comfortable on relatively sizeable ascents and descents, as is common with many alpine routes.
This route uses waymarked routes only, providing mostly straightforward navigation in good weather. Trails vary from well-trodden woodland paths to steeper paths on looser, rocky terrain.
