Great chalet - brilliant holiday
We originally wanted to stay in Corvara but booked the Haus Valentin in Badia as there was no room in Corvara. Any misgivings that we might have had about being too far away from the pistes were soon dispelled. The Collett's shuttle service to the lifts in the morning and the pick up arrangements for returning from either Badia or La Villa were excellent, and made getting to and from the lifts simple and stress free! The staff were outstanding, and we would like to say a particular thank you to Rachel for her guiding and also to Emma for coming to the rescue of one damaged, exhausted snowboarder and getting him a lift home on a ski-do at no cost. It is a shame that the chalet does not get the evening sun, but having it streaming into the bedroom in the morning was great. Also a shame that there are no baths in the chalet, but constant hot water and good pressure almost made up for this when the muscles were aching at the end of a long day on the slopes. The possibility of coming with non-skiers who are able to do snow-shoeing is unique and a huge bonus. Both the ski itineraries and the snow shoe outings were very well organised, particularly in such a huge area. Our group of 10 people varied in age from 21 to 63 and we all had a great time, with fantastic snow, great skiing, good food and brilliant weather to complement the utterly stunning scenery! None of us have been to the Dolomites before but we were all unanimous in saying that we will be back...
