We are delighted to announce the publication of a new pocket field guide to the beautiful flowers of the Pyrenees and Picos de Europa, written by two of our experienced and well-known Flower Walk Organisers, who will be organising wildflower walks for us in the Pyrenees in June this year.
A sequel to their successful book Mountain Flowers – The Dolomites, also published in association with Collett’s Mountain Holidays, Mountain Flowers – Pyrenees & Picos will contain more than 170 species, beautifully illustrated and arranged by flower colour and habitat, avoiding technical language where possible. It will appeal to those with little botanical knowledge but will be sufficiently detailed to be enjoyed and used by the more experienced.
David and then Cliff will be leading Flower Walks for us in the Pyrenees from 4 – 23 June and will visit many of the locations in which the images in their book were taken by David last year. Spring arrives earlier in the Picos de Europa and John and Jo Morris will once more lead flower walks there from 21 May – 9 June, also to places in which photos in the new book were taken by David and Cliff.
These mountains hold a wonderful mixture of flowers from northern Europe and the Mediterranean region. We are proud to be able to offer unique flower guides and walks, not offered by any other publisher or holiday company, that will enable you to enjoy and appreciate these lovely places.
