This 7 night ski holiday is built exclusively for you and your group, explore the far reaches of the Dolomiti Superski with an expert guide on your terms.

Our Private Hut to Hut Ski Holidays in the Dolomites are perfect for larger groups of skiers who want to experience something truly exceptional and magical, together. Every itinerary is crafted to showcase the gems of this winter paradise, bringing together unforgettable skiing opportunities and stays at the very best mountain huts (rifugios).

Like our standard Ski Safaris, the format was created by our Arabba-based friend, ski instructor Mario Delmonego. Mario’s expeditions are exclusively available through Collett’s, and they’re a perfect way to experience one of the world’s largest and most spectacular ski networks.

Led by Mario or one of his colleagues, each day you’ll ski at least one new region, while we transfer your bags to your next overnight stop. During your holiday, you’ll cover many miles of extraordinary skiing, stop at charming places for well-earned lunches, and soak up the warm and hospitable atmosphere at one of our favourite mountain huts. The next morning, after a hearty breakfast, you’ll have the thrill of being first onto freshly-bashed pistes.

Why go Private ?

Our Private hut to hut ki holidays are perfect for larger groups of skiers who each share a love for skiing, exploration and embracing the unfamiliar. Ideal for more experienced skiers who are comfortable on red or black runs, this tour of the Dolomites could be a once in a lifetime experience to share with friends and family.

This ski holiday is a tour, but isn’t ski touring ! There is no skinning or walking on this trip – it’s all piste, lifts and rifugios from end to end.

You’ll see some of the most stunning night skies on clear nights, and see fresh snow roll from the top of the mountain as you’re staying in a mix of accommodation that is already high up the mountain.

This tour is built for a minimum of six guests, if you’re a smaller group, click the link below to see our scheduled ski safari’s this season.

We’d love to build your ideal Ski Safari, so get in touch with us and tell us about what sort of experience you’re looking for.

Need to Knows

Insurance – All skiers must, by law, have third party liability insurance. Please note that this insurance is not included in your ski pass. Most travel insurance policies include this cover, but it is your responsibility to check that you are adequately covered.

Guides – Your ski guide will be an English-speaking ski instructor. As a rule, they gladly offer tips and casual tuition during the course of the safari, but this is done on a basis of goodwill and is not technically part of the package. On your day of arrival, they will be introduced to you and they will also give you a short presentation of the itinerary.

Skipass & Equipment Hire – On your arrival in Arabba, you will be issued with your skipass (included) and you’ll also be able to hire skis, boots and helmets if required (not included – pay locally).

Good Level of Skiing – The Dolomiti Superski network is made up of several renowned ski areas, and the Ski Safari is designed to move guests from valley to valley so they can access the best runs of the network (including the more hidden and undiscovered gems).

We focus on touring and distance rather than challenges and difficulty, so a good level of fitness and stamina is essential. These trips are exclusively intended for good and better-end intermediate skiers, keen to do long days. These routes feature red and blue pistes with the occasional black piste, but do not use any off-piste skiing.

Group Sizes – these trips require seven guests minimum, and are capped at ten.

Rooming & Accommodation – Accommodation is provided in twin bedrooms, which might occasionally involve bunk beds. You will normally be accommodated in mountain huts, also known as ‘rifugios’ although some of these may be located on road cols. Please note that Austrian Twin bedrooms may occasionally feature on an itinerary, whereby you have – in a double bed frame – two single duvets on two single mattresses, which cannot always be pulled apart to form a conventional twin bed arrangement.

The Rifugios – Rifugios (Mountain huts) in the Dolomites are much bigger and more comfortable than their name suggests, and you can expect excellent food and service. Included in the cost of your Ski Safari is breakfast and a three course dinner (taken around a communal table). Drinks and lunch are not included in the price of the safari.

Bedrooms & Odd Numbers – Please note that if your party size is 1, 3, 5 or 7, one member of your party is likely to share a room with someone they will not have met before.

What to Pack? – We recommend you travel with a larger rucksack and a small ‘day’ rucksack. The larger bag will be transported each day between your overnight accommodation, whilst you will ski with the small rucksack, in which you should carry water, sun cream, phone etc. In general, you should travel as lightly as possible.

Luggage Transfers – Your luggage will typically be awaiting you when you arrive at your accommodation each night. Very occasionally, on certain itineraries which include the remoter huts, you might have a night without access to your main bag and therefore you will ski with your essentials stowed in your smaller ‘day’ rucksack. On occasion, you might also be required to carry your main rucksack on a chairlift from which you will ski to your overnight hut – and then to ski with it on the first run of the next day before dropping it off at a designated collection point.

Bus Transfers – Many of our Ski Safaris include the occasional use of free ski bus transfers to get you from one ski area to the next. The cost of these buses are covered by your lift pass and journey times can be anything from 5 minutes to 25 minutes.
