cross-country skiing in the Dolomites
A network of trails in picturesque woodland locations
Cross country skiing in this area is limited but there are a couple of delightful options in the Val Badia, which expose you to magnificent scenery and woodland tranquility. We generally use the cross-country skiing centre at nearby Armentarola, where a series of well-marked woodland tracks provide circular routes (skating and classic) of varying difficulty and length.
The Centre at Armentarola is a spectacular location dominated by the stunning walls of the Conturines Massif. It is not far from Pedraces and Corvara. Skis and boots can be hired and lessons are available too. There is a charming bar and restaurant with an attractive sun terrace, where you can 'recharge your batteries' between the various route itineraries.

in beautiful surrondings
Corvara has 17kms of cross country tracks, including a stunning 5km woodland route under the impressive flanks of the Sella. Further afield, there is Cortina, Val Gardena, Pustertal and Dobbiaco, all offering similarly beautiful itineraries, although having your own transport would be recommended if these were of interest.
Organised cross-country skiing with Collett's
For those who might enjoy the odd day's cross country skiing, we offer it to guests staying in Corvara and Pedraces Badia, usually as an alternative to winter walking and if there is adequate interest. We usually head to the centre at Armentarola and spend the day progressing from the more gentle blue routes to the more challenging reds. Equipment can be hired at the centre.
