Low Level Walking Holidays Maps

For years people have come to the Dolomites to walk on the many marked paths, which meander at low, medium and high levels between hamlets and villages. Whether your base is Arabba, Corvara or Pedraces, there are walks for everyone, from gentle strolls through woods, pastureland and tiny alpine hamlets, where little wooden bridges cross mountain streams, to more physically demanding ventures up into the rocky reaches of the mountains

Here, you can spend your days wandering through wonderful alpine landscapes, where hundreds of different species of wildflower carpet the lush meadows that surround the villages. Networks of numbered paths thread their way between picturesque rifugios, where walkers stop for refreshment and soak up the surroundings. Many of these routes were originally hunting or even smuggling trails.

Some people come here with very specific intentions: fossil-collectors love the region's rich geology; artists and photographers try to capture their own visions of these breathtaking mountains; bird and wildlife observers can admire a diverse range of fauna and, whilst spotting a pair of golden eagles is considered fortunate (although not wholly uncommon), sightings of buzzards, chamois, deer and the comical marmots punctuate many low and medium level walks.

low & medium level walks
in a nutshell...

  • Organised Walks

  • In each of our three alpine resorts,
Arabba, Corvara and Pedraces, we offer
two spectacular walks five days a week
(not Wednesday or Saturday). One walk would take place at medium or low level, whilst the other would be a more challenging route at high level.

These walks are free of charge and completely optional. If they interest you, simply drop into Office Hour to sign up for the next day's itinerary.Walks set off after breakfast at about 9 - 9.30am. We usually take a packed lunch and return to the village mid/late afternoon, depending on the length and location of the walk.

  • Spectacular Scenery

  • Expect lowland and upland meadows, woodland trails, riverside tracks and sleepy hamlets, all with the spectacular massifs towering high above. Waymarking is good and navigating is generally easy. Some of our easier walks take place on the less challenging high level terrain.

  • Being Independent
    & Self-Guided Walking

  • The advice and guidance of our Walk Organisers is available each evening at
Office Hour. We have documented over 40 local walks and Route Laminates of these are available to anyone wanting to go out independently .

Stay as long as you like, arriving and departing on whatever day suits you. Choose between halfboard, bed and breakfast or self catering accommodation from an excellent range of properties in three idyllic alpine villages at the heart of the Dolomites.

Ideas and Information

If you would prefer to walk independently, help and advice is always at hand. Either come to our small resort offices in Arabba, Corvara and Pedraces, or drop into 'Office Hour', where you can chat to (and look over a map with) someone who knows the walks. Alternatively, our 'Ideas & Information Files' outline over 30 outstanding low, medium and high level walks with details, duration and degree of difficulty with the relevant map section included and the opportunity to borrow the corresponding 'Route Laminate', as described here.

...route Laminates can be borrowed from us either at office hour or from our resort offices

In addition, the Route Laminate, perfect for self-guided walking, corresponds to each of the proposals documented in the Ideas & Information Files. This is a small laminated A5 version of your chosen walk, Via Ferrata etc., which you can borrow from us. It is easy to carry and less bulky than the 'I&I' File. It contains the relevant section of map as well as the route description and other useful details. Route Laminates can be borrowed from us either at Office Hour or from our resort offices.
