Our walking holidays in the Dolomites are based in two enchanting alpine villages in the majestic Alta Badia. Corvara and Pedraces Badia are superb springboards for an area of outstanding opportunity for walks, which we categorise as 'moderate easier.' With Collett's you have the choice of self guided walking or you can join moderate easier walks organised by us five days a week and free of charge. For the record, each day we also offer high level walks, flower walks, watercolour strolls and the choice of 2 Via Ferrata. Whatever you choose to do your days out will be characterised by many magical mountain backdrops.
Intermediate walkers are certain to thrive on the many waymarked paths, which wend their way at low and medium altitude between picturesque hamlets and villages. You can enjoy the spectacular scenery in many different ways, perhaps meandering casually for two or three hours on riverside tracks and through wildflower‐strewn meadows, or by venturing higher up on a series of breathtaking day walks, characterised by woodland trails, upland pastures, and occasionally the lower rocky reaches of the massifs themselves. Many of these routes were originally hunting or smuggling trails.
Welcoming mountain huts, known as rifugios, are dotted around this extensive network of numbered paths, each one with its own sun terrace, on which walkers can soak up their magical surroundings, whilst enjoying well‐earned refreshment.

Some people come here with specific intentions: fossil‐collectors love the region's rich geology; artists and photographers try to capture their own visions of these wonderful mountains; bird and wildlife observers can admire a diverse range of fauna and, whilst spotting a pair of golden eagles is considered fortunate, sightings of buzzards, chamois, deer and the comical marmots punctuate many lower level walks.
Five days a week (not Wednesdays or Saturdays) Collett’s organises beautiful moderate/easier walks, setting off at about 9am and returning to the village between 4 and 5pm. We stop regularly to enjoy amazing views from various vantage points or to appreciate the flora. We might drop in on one of our favourite mountain rifugios for a drink or snack before or after finding somewhere suitable to enjoy a packed lunch. These stunning day walks feature upland flower meadows, woodland tracks, riverside trails, sleepy hamlets and beautiful mountain scenery. Our organised walks generally take place at lower and medium level, but might also include the easier high level trails.
If you prefer to walk independently, the help, advice and local knowledge of our walk organisers are always at hand, notably each evening at Office Hour. Dotted around our chalets, there are also our Ideas & Information Files, which document numerous delightful moderate and easier level walks. We have easy‐to-carry Route Laminates corresponding to each of these routes and you are welcome to borrow these on a daily basis.
Please note that you join our Organised Walks and make use of our ideas & information at your own risk. It is important that you understand that whilst our Walk Organisers have substantial local knowledge and are familiar with the routes which our Organised Walks follow, they are not qualified mountain guides.
