Chalet, Hotel or Self Catering Accommodation
in the Dolomites
As with everything at Collett’s, we offer you choice and flexibility where accommodation is concerned. Whether you are driven by budget or by a desire to self indulge, all our accommodation is delightful and we should have something just right. Whatever you choose, you are always a guest of Collett’s. You are therefore welcome at Office Hour, where you can sign up to any of the organised walks that take your fancy, plan self guided walking, book locally supplied activities or acquire information on places of interest. You are also welcome to drop in anytime to one of our chalet hotels for help or local information.
Unique hospitality, lots of local information and outstanding food
An easy-going and well-appointed ‘home from home’
Our chalet hotels are immensely popular. They combine the relaxed feeling of being ‘at home’ with the bonus of being well looked after and superbly fed. Add to this the really pleasant social dynamic that prevails when guests have had an inspirational day out and then sit down for a delicious three course dinner (with wine included) in the good company of other guests, who have largely similar interests. Many guests return year after year for this genuinely charming atmosphere, not to mention the beautiful locations, attractive en suite bedrooms, access to local information and our warm ever-present hospitality. Formerly, a small Tyrolean hotel, Haus Valentin is our only hosted chalet in Badia, 6kms down the valley from Corvara. It has outstanding views from its idyllic position just above the village. We host Haus Valentin with our great friends, the Saning family. They make an excellent domestic and culinary team, whilst we ensure you get the best out of this magical area.
Chalet Verena is near the heart of beautiful Corvara. Just next to the chalet a wooden bridge crosses the river and soon after you are in stunning flower meadows towered over by colossal rock formations. It provides modern and comfortable accommodation with 11 delightful en suite double bedrooms.
Chalet Angelo is perched spectacularly above Corvara in one of its satellite hamlets. It is 10 uphill minutes from the village centre but worth every step given its sensational position. The views from the sun terrace will stay with you forvever. It has 14 bedrooms, a health spa and in its lovely dining/living area and bar friendships (old and new) do nothing but thrive.
A little bit more about our chalet hotels
We believe the qualities of our hosts and outdoor team set us apart from the rest. They are painstakingly recruited by us. Their hospitality is welcoming, unassuming and ever‐present. They care enormously about the success of your holiday and, whilst careful not to interfere, they are always at hand to help you plan your days. They have extensive local information and you can rely on them for excellent ideas and advice on walks, Via Ferrata and other days out. Dotted around the living areas are maps, books and copies of our Ideas & Information Files.
Our hosts are superb cooks and accomplished housekeepers. They will give your room a light clean every other day. They prepare an appetising, semi‐continental buffet breakfast, keeping the tea and coffee on the go. They will make you a good packed lunch that is ready for you however early your start. Dinner in the chalet is a focal point in the day. Six evenings a week (not Wednesday, our day off) we serve a delicious three course dinner. The emphasis is on excellent home-cooked food with a sense of occasion that makes it special and simultaneously acknowledges that most people around the table have had an energetic day out in the mountains. Wine is included with dinner and our hosts are quick to refill empty glasses.
The atmosphere around the table is easy: people with largely common interests (and inspired by a beautiful day in the mountains) chat over good food and drink until well after coffee has been served. We are constantly overwhelmed by the atmosphere that prevails and it is a delight to witness the friendships that are built in our chalet hotels.
You can stay in a hosted chalet on a halfboard or B&B basis. B&B guests are welcome to join us for dinner and can pay locally when doing so. If you choose to stay in during the day, help yourself to tea and coffee ‐ or something from the bar. Our chalets either have a traditional bar or a casual honesty bar. Also, there is wifi and ample parking. Towels and bed linen are provided by us. The chalet hotels are in delightful locations and it is easy to relax with a good book and an amazing view.
Stylish comforts, sublime food, extensive facilities, exceptional hospitality
In the Dolomites, we feature two exquisite mountain hotels, both in beautiful locations. One is in Badia, the other in Corvara. Both are run seamlessly by the families that own them and you can expect really lovely accommodation, sublime food and outstanding service plus a heart-warming focus on your comfort and well-being – nothing is too much trouble. Both hotels are close to one of our chalet hotels, so it is easy for you to wander along to an Office Hour should you wish to sign up to an organised walk or get information for self guiding or other days out.
Spectacularly renovated five years ago, the hotel combines natural materials and modern concepts for maximum comfort. The bedrooms are stylish, very comfortable and more than spacious with immaculate en suites, a separate WC and balconies with outstanding views.
A beautiful 4 star hotel renowned for its food. This elegant hotel in Corvara combines style, hospitality and tradition with a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Beautifully furnished and stunningly located, the hotel is an excellent base for those who want the food to be a fondly remembered aspect of their holiday. Tennis courts, mini-gym, extensive health spa and swimming pool.
Attractive ‘standard’ & ‘superior’ apartments for couples and larger parties
If you would prefer to self cater, we have various apartments in and around Badia and Corvara. All of them are within easy walking distance of the shops and village amenities. Wherever you stay it is easy to wander to one of our chalet hotels and drop in on Office Hour, should you wish to sign up to an organised walk or get information for self guiding or other days out.
The quality of our self catering is good. Some properties are newly built with most mod cons; others are more rustic in character. All are comfortable and spacious – nice places to come back to after a day out in the mountains. In the ‘superior’ category we have some really exquisite apartments, so don’t be too put off by the standard options. Apartments are categorised as superior at our discretion, but it is either on account of their furnishings or because they feature a health spa – or indeed both.
Our apartments are self-contained and usually situated in a chalet, which might house two or three other apartments. In all cases, bedrooms are separate from the living area, which would simultaneously accommodate the dining table and a kitchen area. Some are ideal for couples, whilst others suit larger parties. All have a balcony, terrace or garden from which to enjoy what is likely to be a spectacular view. Unfortunately, it is not possible to feature all our self catering apartments, so contact us with your preferred dates and we can send you details of what is available.

We did this tour in 2014 so this is a very late entry but for anyone thinking of doing this particular itinerary all I can say is - go for it, it's a fantastic 6 days in the beautiful Dolomites. In early July the weather was cool and snow was still lying in quantity; together with my wife's imaginative diversions we had what felt like a pretty adventurous few days. Needless to say, the arrangements worked brilliantly; Rif Biella (wonderfully remote) and Rif Laverella (Finish sauna) were hut highlights. The walking is tough in places with a few 'scrambly' sections but more a vigorous day in the Lake District than Crib Goch.
