Welcome to Collett’s Mountain Holidays, a genuine holiday specialist with a passion for (and unrivaled knowledge of) three majestic mountain destinations. We offer a unique and flexible holiday formula, which allows you to enjoy the most beautiful mountains in Europe in your own way; whether you join free organised walks or self guide; whether you walk challenging high trails or idyllic gentle ones. Some days you might simply choose to relax in sheer mountain splendour or visit a place of interest. In winter, we are in the Dolomites only, specialising in catered ski chalets in Italy’s largest, prettiest and most modern ski network. We also offer snowshoeing and winter walking.
At Collett’s we look after you personally with an ever-present human touch. Here at our UK office in the Essex market town of Saffron Walden, we have a team of people, who are (1) totally dedicated to the success of your holiday and (2) likely to have lived in our destinations whilst working for Collett’s prior to joining us in the UK full-time. Together, our knowledge of our destinations is profound and we can therefore help you make the right choices on every aspect of your holiday. We make the booking process easy and pleasurable so that you feel in ‘safe hands’ from your initial enquiry through to the end of a truly memorable mountain holiday.
I founded Collett’s in 1997 having worked in the Italian Dolomites for a holiday specialist based in Cambridge. When that was acquired by a large operator in 1997, I moved on. We started out in the Dolomites with just one chalet, which Dee, my wife, and I hosted together. We are now a popular mountain specialist in three of Europe’s most magnificent mountain ranges: the Italian Dolomites, the Picos de Europa and the Pyrenees.

These are the people who set us apart from other holiday companies. They don’t wear uniforms; they are not exclusively young or inexperienced; they understand the value and importance of your holiday; they are always on hand to help but careful not to interfere; they have unrivalled local knowledge; they will never try to sell you anything; they strive (in an understated way) to ensure the total success of your time in the mountains.

The walking is sublime, the house and the bedrooms are gorgeous, the hospitality is warm and the food is excellent.
